Resetting your iPad for sale: 4 steps
Follow these 4 steps to reset your iPad for sale.
- Back up your data
Make sure you don’t lose any important data when resetting your iPad. Always create a backup beforehand using iCloud or iTunes.
- Using iCloud: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now.
- Using iTunes: Connect your iPad to a computer, open iTunes, select your iPad, and click “Back Up Now”.
- Sign out of iCloud:
On your iPad, go to “Settings” and tap your name at the top of the screen. Then scroll down and tap “Sign Out”. Enter your Apple ID password and tap “Turn Off”.
- Turn off “Find My iPad”:
Before resetting your iPad to factory settings, it’s important to disable the “Find My iPad” feature. Here’s how: Go to Settings > [your name] > Find My > Find My iPad and turn it off.
- Erase iPad / Restore to factory settings
Once all preparations are complete, you can erase your iPad and restore it to factory settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. You may be asked to enter your passcode and Apple ID password to confirm.
